The 2008 California Woodcarvers Association (CWA) spring show is being held at the:

There are several items that you need to be aware of and your
help in these areas is greatly appreciated.
Sellers need a seller's permit, and we need to have that number on file in case the tax people visit. If you get a regular sellers permit (not a temporary one) it is good throughout the year. You will need to brin a copy of the certificate with you to post in your booth.
FRIDAY NIGHT POT LUCK: 5:30 to 7:30 Friday night. If you plan on attending please bring the following:
A - L Salad with serving spoon
M -Z Dessert with serving utensil
The CWA is suppling everything else: main dish, drinks, plates and utensils.
SET UP: Friday, May 2, 7 - 9 pm, Friday night, after the potluck dinner, and 7:30 - 9 am Saturday morning.
SHOW HOURS:
Saturday 7:30 am to 9:00 am - exhibitors only
9:00 am to 5:00 pm, open to the public
Sunday 8:00 am to 9:00 am - exhibitors only
9:00 am to 4:00 pm, open to the public.
4:00 pm to 6:00 pm - take down and clean up
6:00 pm - vacate building
JUDGING ENTRIES: Friday evening entries may be checked in after dinner starting about 7:30 pm. These will be in also, starting at about 8:00 am. Saturday morning entries must be in NO LATER the 9:00 am Saturday morning. To start the judgin on time, we would appreciate it if you would bring your entries in on Friday night.
RC CARVERS AND GUESTS: There is a large parking lot area available for your use that is fenced , however there are NO HOOK-UPS FOR RV'S.
Saturday dinner is being presented by Burke Catering at the Scottish Rite Temple. The cost is $20.00 per person and can be paid when you send in your registration.
Exhibitors are asked to bring their own table covering. The covering should cover the whole table and reach the floor in front.
We encourage you to carve, wood burn, chip carve, or demonstrate while you are at your display table. This will allow visitors to see what our art is all about. Many visitors have never seen this type of work done before.
If you indicated that you need electricity, you must bring your own extension cord (approximately 25 ft.), and you must cover the cords for safety reasons, such as with duct tape.
DONATIONS: We apprciate any carving donations for the silent acution, hourly raffels, or our country store. Please contact Joe You - and thank you very much.

SECURITY: There will be no overnight security guard, however, there has never been a problem with this facility. The building is locked up at night.
PRE-SALE GATE TICKETS: Do you have friends or family that would like to visit the show? You may purchase gate tickets before the show for $2.00 each, $3.00 less that the normal entrance fee. For purchase of these tickets, please contact Joe You (contact information above).
CENTRAL DISPLAY: After the juding for all competitive pieces is finished, the pieces will be displayed on a central table for the duration of the show. Carvings will be grouped by category and accompanied by the ribbon and a nicely lettered card with the carver's name, carving level and category. All pieces must remain on display for the entire show to be eligible for the cash prize.
All exhibitors are asked to keep their displays open and available to the public on Saturday and Sunday until closing.
